Will joined E3 Ecology in 2023 after completing a Master’s Degree in Biology at Newcastle University. Whilst completing his degree, Will studied modules for invertebrate and ornithological field identification, biological modelling, wildlife management and species conservation.

During his time with E3 Will has been involved in and managed a comprehensive range of ecological surveys and projects with a particular focus on Ecological Impact Assessment (EcIA), Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) and bat surveys including risk assessment and presence/absence surveys. Other survey work he has been involved with include great crested newt eDNA and HSI surveys, watercourse surveys, badger surveys, bat box checks, bat transect and bat remote monitoring surveys. He has experience in preparing a variety of reports to support planning applications for a range of projects. Will has developed his survey skills during his time at E3 Ecology and has gained broad experience where he is currently applying for his Class 1 licence for bats and associate CIEEM accreditation.

He has also developed his skills in botanical identification achieving a level three field identification skills certificate (FISC). Will is proficient with a range of software packages including QGIS and bat call analysis software.
