Since joining E3 Ecology, Alana has contributed to a range of ecological surveys through assisting with bat calls species identification, bat and great crested newt trapping surveys, and thermal/infra-red video analyses. She has experience coordinating survey logistics and subcontracted surveyors and also currently contributes to ecological report proof reading and wider administrative and technical support.

Prior to joining E3, Alana gained international conservation and research experience across Europe and Africa. She has undertaken behavioural research with primates in Zambia and Spain and contributed to biodiversity monitoring, exotic animal rehabilitation, and wildlife research projects in Malawi. These roles involved field data collection, behavioural observation, and supporting wider conservation initiatives.

Alana holds an MSc in Animal Behaviour from the University of St Andrews, where her research focused on human-carnivore conflict mitigation and spatial analysis using GIS. She also holds a First-class BSc in Zoology. Her academic background has given her strong skills in wildlife research, data analysis, and scientific communication.

Alana has a particular interest in wildlife conservation, human-wildlife coexistence, and behavioural ecology, and is keen to continue developing her experience within ecological consultancy.
