Rosie Mackenzie BSc MSc
Rosie joined E3 Ecology in March 2021 having completed two seasons working in ecological consultancy where she gained experience conducting protected species surveys across the UK, with a focus on bat surveys for Defence Estates and other developers as well as great crested newt distribution surveys for Natural England. Rosie is now a senior ecologist with E3 and is skilled in conducting a wide variety of ecological surveys, with a particular focus on bat surveys, great crested newt surveys and Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) assessments. She has also gained considerable experience in preparing ecological reports to support planning applications for a broad range of projects.
She holds Natural England licences for bats (class 1) and newts (class 1), a level three field identification skills certificate (FISC), and is qualified to undertake River Condition Assessments (RCA) to inform BNG assessments.
Prior to entering into ecological consultancy, Rosie obtained a BSc (Hons) in Zoology from the University of Edinburgh and a MSc in Ecology and Conservation from the University of Aberdeen. She has also gained practical habitat management skills whilst volunteering at a local nature reserve in North Yorkshire.
