Declan Ghee BSc MCIEEM

Declan joined E3 in April 2020, having previously worked as an ecological consultant based in Cheshire. Declan is experienced in conducting a range of ecological survey work, particularly relating to bats and great crested newts, and he holds Natural England, Natural Resources Wales and Scottish Natural Heritage licences for bats (class 2) and great crested newts (GCN), which allows him to legally disturb and handle these species for survey purposes. In addition, Declan is a CS38 certified tree climber, which facilitates aerial tree surveys for roosting bats.

Declan holds a level four field identification skills certificate (FISC) from the Botanical Society of Britain & Ireland (BSBI), and is able to undertake more complex botanical surveys, such as national vegetation classification (NVC) surveys.

Declan has experience of preparing a range of ecological survey reports and documents in support of planning applications and also holds European Protected Species (EPS) bat and great crested newt mitigation licence applications for proposed developments.

Prior to entering the world of ecological consultancy, Declan obtained a BSc (Hons) in Marine Biology from the University of St Andrews. Whilst at university, he gained ecological experience through volunteering for various research projects, including satellite tagging harbour seals in Scotland and tracking great white sharks in South Africa.
